All about.......

Originally the preserve of visitors from Malta, Italy and keen SCUBA divers, Gozo is gradually becoming recognised by more people looking for an experience that is different...but not hard work. The southern Mediterranean location means great weather, a predominance of Italian cuisine but a unique culture that has developed over hundreds of years. The time as a British colony instilled English as well as Maltese language (a hybrid of Italian and Aramaic) as well as a legal structure, driving on the Left and even British electrical sockets! Very family orientated (get your table early for Sunday lunch) warm and genuine, Gozo has a slower pace of life but plenty to do. Don't be surprised to see roads closed for a few hours' horse/buggy racing, or a Festa at a village church where the locals celebrate with food, drink music and fireworks! Enjoy the relaxed, friendly family-orientated culture and soak up the atmosphere at the beaches, cafes, restaurants, hills, historic sites and walks in this very special world.

Don't miss.....
  • Rabat Citadel. Astonishing, impressive and surreal. This huge fortress is under restoration but a must-see.
  • Ramla Bay beach - a beautiful curved sandy bay. Get there early at the weekends to get a good space. Sun lounger rental includes the attendants carrying the loungers out to a position of your choice!
  • The Azure Window. As seen on Game of Thrones and one of the best places to watch the sun go down...but sadly nature took its course in March 2017 and, although a great place to go and see the sunsets, this huge archway is no more.... there is the smaller archway still visible at the west end of the salt pans below Zebbug.
  • Churches - A devoutly Catholic nation has created many impressive places of worship for a small island
  • Horse racing - Don't be surprised to find roads closed for locals to race their horses and buggies. You may not see them in the fields but Gozitians are proud of their horses
